Protecting Creativity and Healthy Brain Development In Children

Parents are raising their children in a fast-paced, media-heavy world, and finding ways to support and protect your child's healthy development can be difficult. In this talk open to the public, pediatrician Susan Johnson will highlight seven essential nutrients – warmth, breathing, nutrition, rhythm, sleep, movement, and unconditional love -- that can help parents raise children with a joyful lifestyle.

She'll offer insights into how parents can support healthy brain development in their children, using as an example her autobiographical story of having a son diagnosed with sensory integration and processing difficulties. She'll also discuss the impact on children's development of overstimulation from images on television and computer screens, and describe how the seven nutrients help nurture the blooming cognizant capacities in our children.
