Alex's house from 2016 Getdown
Grab your sunglasses and head to your very own bungalow in the Hamptons for a week in June or September 2016, or other time negotiated with the owner, former LWS board chair and alumni parent Alex Von Hoffman. This cozy cottage with separate guest cabin is located just steps from the beach in Amagansett, New York - one of the most exclusive resort areas in the US. Click HERE to view!
The cottage is "south of the highway" (route 27) about 1/2 mile east of Amagansett, and abuts a nature preserve that stands between it and the ocean. Napeague state park begins about 1000 feet east of the beach.
You and your guests can spread out between the main house and a guest cabin. The main house has a master bedroom, one large bathroom, and a sleeping loft up a quaint staircase where 3 or 4 people can sleep. The cabin has a king size bed and a bathroom. There is also an outdoor shower and a patio (for a total of 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms to comfortably house 7).
Amagansett is about a 3 hour drive from Manhattan, which can be reached efficiently by train and bus ("jitney") as well. The town has several nice restaurants, a good farmers market, some of the best shopping in the Hamptons, an excellent yoga studio, and gorgeous beaches. On the bay side, you'll find beautiful wetlands and bay beaches, which you can navigate by rented kayak. You can take a series of short ferries to the North Fork of Long Island and visit the many wineries there or join a fishing expedition out of Montauk, where you can also take a ferry to Block Island.
This is for a one week stay in June or September 2016, or another time negotiated with the owner. For more photos and information on Amagansett, click here. To contact Alex and pre-negotiate a time, please e-mail Tricia Drake at tdrake@lindenwaldorf.org.

Who'll be the lucky one to walk away with the First Grade class project? This beautiful water color of a cherry tree was painted by Ms. Johnson, then each child added their wee thumbprint for a bumblebee and their pinky prints for blossoms. It's a one-of-a-kind treasure, for sure!
Can't make it to the event? E-mail Tricia Drake at tdrake@lindenwaldorf.org to submit a proxy bid to the auctioneer. Your proxy bid (up to the maximum you set) will be included in the live bidding as if you were present.
